{Hello 2021} Edmonton Newborn | Maternity | Fresh 48 | Family Photographer

Ahhhh deep breath….I’m back and ready to put 2020 and the hardest year for my business behind me and start 2021 with fresh goals, fresh ideas, more confidence and hopefully a lot more newborn babies. First things first - A brand new website! And with that brand new packages for family, newborn, maternity, fresh 48 and baby sessions that I am sure you’ll love. 2021 family session dates are also now available for online booking - book now and get the date that works best for you. All images on the site are from the past year and a half - I felt that I have grown so much as a photographer in the past year and a half and wanted to show you the work that is the best reflection of what you will receive when you book a session with me.

2020 was going to be the year I grew more than ever, photographed the most babies, and did more studio sessions than ever before. Then COVID hit and we all know what that has affected so many lives and so many small businesses. Your family’s health and safety has always been my number one priority, and as hard as it is I will continue to follow all AHS guidelines which currently only allow me to photograph families outdoor or in studio. Crossing my fingers that restrictions will be eased on January 23rd and I will be able to get back to my in home newborn sessions.

When you book any session this year you can rest assured that your deposit will be transferred in the event a health order prevents me from doing your session. In studio I am currently following all orders which include wearing a mask and washing hands frequently. I also have an awesome disinfectant fogger from a fantastic local business Maverick Fire and Safety that I use before and after every session to clean and disinfect all spaces and surfaces clients come in contact with. As always, newborn props, wraps and backdrop are always washed before and after any newborn session. I allow 24 hours between each booking and always require clients to reschedule if an immediate family member is sick.

I’ve made some exciting changes to my studio as well, including new studio lighting and a more comfortable seating area for parents. I can’t wait to shoot more newborns, sitters and cake smash sessions this year.

Thank you so much to everyone who continues to support and trust me to capture your family safely. I am so passionate about capturing your memories and hope that you will take me a long for a ride with your family this year. Please check out my new website and packages and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions at all. Together we will get through this all and I hope all of our sacrifices pay off soon and we can all get back to doing the things we love very soon.

Please enjoy some off my favorites below from 2020

Edmonton Milestone Photographer {Miguel is One} Sneak Peek

Hooray, it's April and this long winter is hopefully going to end very soon. I am so excited to announce that my home studio is officially open and that I am booking 2018 newborn and milestone sessions now! To celebrate I am offering $100 off any April newborn session (session to take place in April). Newborn sessions can now take place in the comfort of your home or in my cozy in home studio located in Devon, Alberta, about 20 minutes southwest of Edmonton. You can see my updated pricing for studio and in home newborn sessions here. I also offer milestone mini sessions for babies 6 months, 1 and 2 years old, contact me for more info.

I absolutely love when my newborn families come to see me for their little one's first birthday photos, now offered in my home studio for easy set up and clean up. Little Miguel was the sweetest newborn, so I couldn't wait to see how much he had grown, and oh my, he is just the most handsome one year old little man now, all that hair! He wasn't the biggest fan of his cake, but the bubble bath at the end of the session was a hit, especially since mom and dad thought to bring bubbles, so much fun. Fedilisa & Marvin, it was so wonderful seeing you again, wishing you all the best and hope to see you all again soon. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Milestone Photographer {Mathias is One} Sneak Peek

Is it spring yet? I had to buy myself some tulips today to remind myself that winter is almost over. Earlier this week this winter got really long when I took a bad fall on the icy sidewalks and hit my head hard enough to knock myself out. Found out I have a pretty bad concussion, so I will be taking it easy over the next couple weeks. Something I am really looking forward to is to finally officially open my home studio in beautiful Devon. The painting was finished last week and new wooden backdrops will be going up soon! I am hoping to host an grand opening party sometime in March or early April, watch for more details in my VIP group on Facebook.

This adorable cheeky little guy has been stealing my heart since his newborn photos last winter. I was so happy to have him be one of the first to test out my new studio space and even have a bath in my kitchen sink, something I miss now that my babies are almost all grown up. Mathias wasn't a big fan of the mess of his cake smash, but was all smiles for bath time. Another baby will be joining the family later this year, such exciting news for such a beautiful family. S & F, thank you so much for sharing Mathias's first year with me. Happy 1st Birthday sweetie pie. Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Milestone Photographer {Noah First Birthday} Sneak Peek

I am so lucky to see familiar faces every year, families that have trusted me to be their family photographer from the beginning. There is really nothing more rewarding than families that return to me. As a photographer and artist confidence is sometimes a struggle, but every time I see a family again I really feel like I am doing what I am meant to do. I have also been getting so many referrals as of late, and I truly want all of my amazing families to know how appreciative I am when you pass my name on to friends and family - word of mouth is absolutely crucial to my success and I am so thankful to all of you who helped me grow my business to where it is today. I do offer referral rewards and have been keeping track since I announced them last spring - I will be sending out a referral statement to anyone that referred me in the past year in February, just in time for spring and summer bookings, so if you showed me some love in 2017 you can expect to save in 2018.

I met the sweet McRoberts family two years ago and was delighted when they asked me to photograph their newborn baby boy Noah last winter, one of me favorite sessions of all time..I mean how cute are they?

Hard to believe a whole year as almost already passed by, that first year is so fleeting. Little Noah and his mama were the first to check out my new in-home studio space, which is currently being painted and is set to officially open in March. Noah has always been such a smiley, happy baby, and he definitely didn't disappoint for his first birthday photos, so full of smiles and those baby rolls - adorable! He tastefully enjoyed his chocolate smash cake from Tripe L Cakes {FYI my go to cake lady for any occasion, Laura is the best!) and was thrilled to splash around in the tub to get all cleaned up after. Ashley and Mike, it has been such a pleasure getting to know you the past couple of years, thank you so much for choosing me as your family and special moments photographer. Hope Noah has a wonderful first birthday this weekend! Enjoy. {K}

Edmonton Milestone Photographer {Maverick First Birthday} Sneak Peek

One of the most rewarding parts of being a newborn and family photographer is that I get to see so many babies grow up and also see families grow over the years. It never fails to amaze me how fast time goes by, the years I have spent raising small children just seem to have flown by as fast as months did when I was younger. Being able to capture that first year for so many families warms my heart as I know how special those photos will become when your baby is all grown up like mine; you will send them off to school for the first time then go back and look at how little they used to be and you will ask yourself - why did it have to go by so fast?

When I first met little Maverick for his newborn photos I remember just being in awe of his full head of hair, he was such a gorgeous and laid back baby. Fast forward almost a year, and that little cutie is one of the happiest little guy's I have ever met. I have had the pleasure of photographing this adorable family a few times this year, and little Maverick is always full of cheeky little smiles. Michelle and Chris, it seems like yesterday I was meeting you for a maternity session! Thank you so much for having me capture this first year with your sweet baby boy. Wishing you all the best, and hope to see you again soon. Enjoy. {K}
